What is the Bishop’s Appeal?
Once a year, the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter conducts an appeal to support the immediate needs and ministries of the Ordinariate. This fund goes toward essential, Chancery-based services to parishes across the U.S. and Canada. All members are asked to make a sacrificial commitment to this mission-critical endeavor of the Ordinariatae.
Why should I give?
The Bishop’s Appeal is an opportunity to join your gifts with others in providing for critical services throughout the Ordinariate. Donations to the Bishop’s Appeal support ministries that cannot be accomplished by one parish or community alone. Together, we can meet the escalating needs of our growing Ordinariate!
By contributing to the appeal, you join yourself to the evangelizing mission of the Ordinariate and help provide for its immediate needs.
How is my contribution spent?
The total goal for the 2017 Bishop’s Appeal is $225,000. Of that amount:
• 25% goes toward support for Ordinariate Clergy and the Office of Vocations
• 25% goes toward the Office of Communications
• 38% goes toward Parish Development
• 12% offsets Bishop Lopes’ travel to the Ordinariate Parishes and other evangelization activities

How does the Bishop’s Appeal benefit my parish?
The appeal benefits your parish in many ways, from training and supporting your priests, deacons, and seminarians to helping the Ordinariate communicate with your fellow parishioners through traditional and new media tools.
If your parish exceeds its goal in payments, 50% of those funds over your parish's goal are returned to your parish and 50% goes toward the Bishop's fund for special capital projects across the Ordinariate.
May I designate my donation to a particular ministry?
Individual contributions to the appeal cannot be designated to specific ministries, as funds are already allocated based on the needs of each ministry as set forth in their budgets. This ensures that all ministries in the appeal benefit from your gift.
How may I get a letter for my income tax?
Acknowledgment letters are sent at the time a pledge is made. All gifts equaling $250 or more (U.S. dollars) are sent a tax letter at the end of January, following the tax year the donation was given. If you do not receive a tax letter, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 346.247.2208 to request a letter.
Who do I contact for more information about the Appeal?
